HOMEMED's Cardiac "Combo" rapid test screens for elevated levels of cardiac enzymes (Troponin I 0.05ng/ml CK- MB 0.5 ng/ml and Myoglobin 50ng/ml) to detect cardiac muscle injury
Limits Myocardial injury
Rapid bedside diagnosis and early treatment of ACS/AMI is essential for limitation of myocardial injury and subsequent reduction of cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. Diagnosis of ACS/AMI is made if two or more of the following diagnostic criteria are met:
- Typical history
- E.C.G. changes
- Elevated cardiac enzymes
Increased window of cardiac muscle injury detection
No single cardiac enzyme determination meets the criteria for an ideal marker of AMI diagnosis in patients who are evaluated at various times after onset of chest pain
| Cardiac Marker | Time to Initial Detectable Level | Time to Peak Level | Time to Return to Normal |
|---|---|---|---|
| Myoglobin (MYO) | 2-4 hours | 8-10 hours | 24 hours |
| Cardiac Troponin I (cTnI) | 4-6 hours | 12 hours | 3-10 days |
| Creatine Kinase (CK), CK-MB | 4-8 hours | 12-24 hours | 3-4 days |
| Lactate Dehydrogenase | 10-12 hours | 48-72 hours | <7-10 days |
| Cardiac Troponin T | 4-6 hours | 12-48 hours | 7-10 days |
